Wanton mee had been absolutely the one type of food that well, in my mind can never go wrong. Of course there are still some places’ wanton mee that doesn’t taste good but I just wanted to sit down and type about my favorite place to savor wanton mee. So far, out of all the places I’ve had wanton mee, including all the fancy chinese restaurants and even all the way to Hong Kong, there are these two places where I’ll be more than glad to eat their wanton mee three meals a day, consecutively for I don’t know a month[s]..? and still not get bored. Also, both places are located in the same area! Uptown Damansara Utama.

Because of the different style of cooking, I can’t decide who ranks first in my heart so in no particular order, the two shops are Koon Kee Wanton mee and Annie 1’s.

I don’t have any pics of Koon Kee’s wanton mee but I’ve been loving their wanton mee since the first time I’ve tasted it, probably 9 years ago? I don’t know, I mean, I’m not THAT old so you can’t expect me to say decades ago, right?

For Annie 1, it’s been quite some time since I’ve had their food, mainly since getting a parking over at Damansara Utama’s pretty tough, especially lunch but we found one the other day (well, my mommy did.). I remembered the first time I stepped into the shop it was still newly opened so it wasn’t that packed and I didn’t fancy the menu but after trying their food, I think their food tastes really good, mainly their dry wanton mee! Through time, they even purchased the shop lot next door to expand their business and I think that’s something good seeing that even with two shop lots, the crowd is still crazy. C’mon admit it, everyone loves good food!

As always, I settled in to please my craving for wanton mee with curry chicken /insert_drooling_emoji

Honestly, I am very very picky with food, I know, not good >< But I am even more picky with my curry. In my family because I’ve never bothered to eat anything spicy, I am branded as “the one that doesn’t cannot eat spicy food” like really, if the curry tastes good, okay, I’ll eat, if not, I’d rather not eat, if its overly spicy, I’ll take a little if its good if not, no. But one thing I like best in curry are curry potatoes! Okay so this was probably my forth time having this curry chicken wanton mee from Annie 1’s, its just amazing! Also I actually prefer chicken thigh/drumstick over any other part of the chicken since it seems to be the softest and smoothest hahaha so *cheers* that I got chicken thigh that day /// w ///

 

here’s one of their all day breakfast selections which is a sunny side up with toast and pork sausage.

The last main we had was the Curry Laksa with chicken and prawn. Personally, this wasn’t really my cup of tea seeing that I did not enjoy curry laksa at many other places but because I’m such a “wai sek mao” (someone that craves{?} wants to eat everything{?} ) I still took a bite. One thing disappointing about this is that we only managed to find one tiny prawn inside haha.

As for drinks, standard lo, Milo ‘ping’ and Teh ‘ping’

If the Milo was made from the normal powder type (not the ready to serve boxed ones) then I think its pretty good, not too sweet which I think is good seeing that almost everywhere’s Milo tasted way too sweet. However for the teh ice, I’ll prefer it sweeter.
