Hellow guys! I got a couple products from Clinelle the other day in my Butterfly Project party bag. Since it's my first time trying products from Clinelle, I figured I'd wrap up a first impressions + review post for it to share what I think about them.
One of Clinelle's best selling products is their sleeping mask cream gel with 3x hydracalm action. The product is formulated with Bio-Calm Complex to help restore & defend sensitization of the skin caused by environmental aggression. PureSwiss Thermal Spring Water is a hydra booster that instantly infuses hydration to maximize protection of the skin. Lastly, Natural Phyto Hyaluronic Acid helps to lock in moisture for 72hrs.
Once applied to the skin, the cream turns into water droplets form for a faster absorption rate. After the droplets are absorbed, my skin instantly felt slightly softer and more hydrated. This isn't a product that dries down completely though as it did leave a very slight sticky feeling on my skin.

The cream gel also comes with an aromatic herb blended scent. Initially I wasn't a fan of the scent but after using the product a few more times I actually find the scent quite pleasant and calming, plus after a minute the scent dissolves and all's left is your hydrated face :) I've also noticed that the next morning I'll wake up with a healthy glow on my face despite having barely 4 hours of sleep!

Anyone here that isn't a fan of applying sunblock like me? Well here's some good news. I've finally come across a sunblock that works for me. I personally have three main issues with typical sunblocks and trust me I do feel guilty neglecting sunblock from my morning routine so if the reason why you'd avoid sunblock is the same as mine, you might wanna check this out.
My issue with most sunblocks:
1. They tend to leave a white cast on my face. (as if my skin tone ain't dull enough omg)
2. They are greasy. (I'm already a natural walking reflector)
3. They tend to give me breakouts
Now let's take a look at this sunblock I got from Clinelle. First things first, this sunblock has SPF50 PA+++, which is a decent amount of SPF. It claims to soothe, hydrate and protect our skin with a non-greasy finish and it's also a Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen. Meaning it protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. Now let's see how it blends into my face.

Personally I've tried a whole bunch of sunblocks over the years from drugstore to high end ones, tinted and non-tinted sunblocks, this is so far the only sunblock that has passed my list of sunblock requirements! So from a before and after photo(right) you can tell that after applying the sunblock my skin looks literally the same as before. Apart from my natural panda eyes + uneven redness, you don't see my face looking gray. A sunblock that blends out to nothing but still work it's SPF magic is honestly all I'll ever ask for from a sunblock. I had this on for a couple of hours outdoor and it didn't feel like I had a thick uncomfortable layer over my face either so that's solving three of my main issues with most sunblocks!

At initial stage when the metal balls first touch your skin while you massage the cream it has a slight cooling feeling to it. After massaging for 5 minutes, the heat will very slowly start to pick up and after about 10 minutes of warmth, those areas do get a little itchy especially if you're in an air-conditioned room/under the fan. Though don't worry as within 20-30minutes, you won't be feeling any itch or heat anymore :) I can't give a rating based on the slimming & firming results at the moment as I've only just started using it, however for the moisturizing part I do feel that my stomach is a lot smoother :o I also think it's pretty cool to include those massage balls on the tube itself cause most slimming gels don't come with one and you'll have to get your hands dirty haha. PS. For those that are using this product and is loving it, I came across on their website HERE a twin pack option that could save you some extra bucks!
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer, Parfum*, Isohexadecane, Vanillyl Butyl Ether, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Polysorbate 80, Phyllacantha Fibrosa Extract, Sorbitan Oleate, Sphacelaria Scoparia Extract, Hydrolzyed Algae Extract. *Parfum is from natural sources.
Apart from three full sized beauty products, Clinelle also gave us a few samples to try out in which I figured I'd might as well share my review on them too. I've heard of BB Creams and CC Creams, this is the first time I've came across an EE cream! So this Even Effect cream is suppose to be a lightweight and non-greasy multi-correction cream that works like a skincare + makeup in one product.
Instructions is to dab & blend evenly over cleansed & toned face as a daily tinted moisturizer or as a makeup base.
It also claims to have 15-in-1 beautifying functions for perfect flawless skin. Namely: even out skin tone, conceal dark spots, foundation cover, smoothen, water resistant, whiten, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, firm, hydrate, refine pores, control oil, soothe & calm sensitive skin, SPF50PA+++ UV protection, skin defense with anti-oxidant, and lastly prevents blemishes.
There are two shades available - Ivory & Natural. I got the shade Ivory, which is also their lightest shade available.
The first thing that came into my mind was "This is way too dark for ivory."
So colour match aside, lets see how the formula is like. From the photos above, you can tell that the coverage is build-able so I'd say this product is within the light-medium coverage range. Judging it from a tinted moisturizer standpoint, I do think the coverage was pretty decent. (after all it did hid my acne scars pretty well) However, I personally find it really tough to get an even coverage over my skin. The product just did not want to stick on certain areas of my face especially the side of my nose.
Rating: 5/10 | Personal thoughts:
Overall, I don't think this is a product that works for me. While it does provide quite a bit of coverage, you could see how patchy and tough to blend certain areas would get. If you squint your eyes harder you could also see that the product was getting a little flaky after I tried to blend it further using a dabbing motion. Though like all products I've reviewed, everyone has different skin types and what doesn't work for me might work well on you :)

Here's the last sample I got from Clinelle. This is a water based makeup remover that's also effective on waterproof makeup. It also contains good stuff like green tea extract, pomegranate enzyme, and hyaluronic acid. These properties helps to shield your skin from daily free radicals damage, exfoliate, and hydrate your skin as well.
Rating: 7/10 | Personal thoughts:
If you know me then you'll know that I only rely on water based makeup removers. From what I could tell is that this makeup remover is true to it's claims as I was able to remove my entire eye makeup (with waterproof mascara!) pretty effortlessly with only small amount of makeup remover.

This sums up my first impressions with Clinelle's products. Some are hits, some not so. Of all the products above, I must say my personal favourite out of the bunch is definitely their sunblock! :) Thanks again Clinelle for all these products and thank you Butterfly project for giving me this opportunity to try em' out! I know I've been delaying it but the full unboxing of my Butterfly Project party bag will be live reeeeeeaaaaaaalllllyyyyyyy soon! So stay tuned alright! Until next time!
