Make It Happen - A new inspirational tagline to instill confidence among young women.
I'm sure most of us has heard of Maybelline New York.
"The new tagline 'Make It Happen' is asking women to define her own beauty in her own terms, but with a drive and go-getter spirit that transcends beauty to an action to make whatever matters to her happen. The 'IT' in Make It Happen is a very powerful word that has lived with Maybelline for decades; now it is in her hands to define it. Essentially this expresses how Maybelline New York empowers women today to define her beauty, live her life and Make It Happen."
— Pink Fong, Marketing Manager of Maybelline New York Malaysia
A couple weeks ago, I got the chance to attend Maybelline's Make It Happen makeup workshop @ Midvalley Centre Court. It was the first time I've actually attended a beauty-related event, so I've got to admit it, I was actually really nervous. I didn't know anyone there but was glad to be able to make a few new beauty junkie blogger friends there! You know the feeling you get when you meet someone and you get that 'woah, I read her blog!' feeling inside?
yeah, me. *shy*
The event was held at MidValley's centre court, with many fun activities to stop by for. There you could get popcorn & cotton candy, take some photo booth photos with your friends and also take the opportunity to have a non-stop swatching session on all the beautiful Maybelline products! You can also get a free makeover + photo shoot session upon purchasing a certain amount of Maybelline products. Win win don't you think?
At 2pm the makeup workshop begins with Steven Sunny demonstrating a simple bold makeup look on model, Sook Yee. It's really impressive how amazing the power of makeup is. A dash of eyeliner and mascara really opens up the eyes. I personally don't wear makeup on a daily basis but I do try to wear at least a lip tint to class haha. Try. Steven made a point that a full face makeup routine isn't necessary but the power of mascara and lipstick can bring life to a person's face. So let's see how long I can keep up with wearing at least lipstick everyday.
Throughout the demonstration, Steven shared many tips for us to take note on. He also answered a few of the crowd's questions on makeup. Now let me share what I've learned and would personally try out for myself or would adapt to my preferences:
1. Mascara & a pop of lip colour makes wonders
2. Tight line your upper eyelid
3. Your makeup look for the day should reflect your mood.
5. Red can be sexy and it could also be fierce at the same time.
Watch the makeup process below:
Wasn't aware that there was a lucky draw after the workshop, so I was quite surprised when they called my blog name out! Personally I've never heard the word 'Candy Yumi' coming from anyone else other than my friends that just enjoy calling me that out of fun, so double the goodies. Thank you Maybelline for giving me this opportunity to attend such an educational workshop as well as all the goodies to bring home! Will be uploading a step by step tutorial soon with these products!
Ending the post with a photo booth photo with the girls!
What a way to spend the day looking beautiful. I love watching make-up demonstrations because it amazes me the difference a little colour makes.
